The 3 days of football activities, run by Star Coaching, took place at the Great Witley Quarter-green Astro turf Pitch last week and was well attended each day as well enjoyed by all. Medals were given out to all the boys and girls who attended the football club. Although on Wednesday the weather was miserable, players played on with great enthusiasm and were rewarded with beautiful sunny weather on the final day. On Tuesday we focused on dribbling and sprinting, on Wednesday we focused on dribbling and turning with the ball and on Thursday the focus was on shooting and heading the ball. The last day gave me the opportunity to run a few practice drills, such as, the shooting and dribbling corridor, which the boys took on with aplomb, scoring some superb goals in the process! Throughout the three days we were able to play lots of small sided games, including a mini football tournament, learn new skills to use in a game and I have to say the general standard of football was consistently high all week.
